Looking Back on 2025–2026
At Billings West Rotary Club, every meeting, service project, and community partnership reflects our commitment to Service Above Self. This past year was filled with opportunities to build relationships, strengthen our community, and learn from leaders making a difference across Montana.
Whether cleaning local parks, supporting families in need, donating blood, or connecting with community organizations, our members experienced firsthand the power of Rotary to bring people together for a common purpose.
For professionals looking to expand their network, community-minded individuals seeking meaningful volunteer opportunities, or anyone interested in making a positive impact, Billings West Rotary continues to be a place where friendships grow and service matters.
First Quarter Highlights (July – September)
The Rotary year began with opportunities to connect, learn, and serve.
Members enjoyed a summer outing at a Billings Mustangs game, strengthening friendships outside our regular meetings and reminding us that Rotary is as much about relationships as it is about service.
Our first-quarter service project brought members together to help clean and beautify Joe's Pond at Shiloh Crossing. Projects like this demonstrate how a few hours of volunteer service can make a lasting impact on our community.
Club programs featured engaging speakers and educational opportunities, including Clem Pellet sharing family history and insights, as well as representatives from Montana's Department of Public Health and Human Services discussing issues affecting our communities today.
Second Quarter Highlights (October – December)
The second quarter focused on giving back and learning about organizations that improve lives throughout our region.
Members visited Vitalant to gain a better understanding of the critical role blood donations play in saving lives. That visit inspired our quarterly service project. A successful Vitalant Blood Drive that helped support local healthcare needs.
Throughout the quarter, members also heard from organizations making a difference in healthcare and education, including St. Vincent Regional Hospital and the Education Foundation.
The holiday season provided an opportunity to give back in a special way through our annual Christmas Brunch and the Deserving Kids Gift Program. These traditions continue to bring joy to local families while reinforcing Rotary's commitment to serving others.
Third Quarter Highlights (January – March)
The new year brought unique opportunities to learn about community challenges and discover how local organizations are addressing them.
Members toured the Yellowstone County Detention Facility, gaining valuable insight into the criminal justice system and rehabilitation efforts within our community.
Our quarterly service project partnered with People in Action and St. Vincent de Paul to prepare lunches for those experiencing food insecurity. Hosted at Westpark Village, the project showcased Rotary's ability to unite organizations and volunteers around a common mission.
Programs during the quarter included presentations from fellow Rotarian Dyann at the Mid-Rivers Meeting, as well as visits from organizations such as the Yellowstone Art Museum and Love INC, each sharing ways they strengthen and support the Billings community.
Fourth Quarter Highlights (April – June)
As the Rotary year drew to a close, members reflected on Rotary's history while continuing to serve and engage with the community.
One highlight was Charter Day, celebrated alongside Downtown Rotary. Members enjoyed hearing from Montana State University President Brock Tessman while honoring the legacy and future of Rotary service in Billings.
The quarter's signature service project was participation in the Great American Cleanup, where members spent several hours improving the appearance of Shiloh Road by collecting litter and demonstrating pride in our community.
Members also joined Downtown Rotary during Memorial Day observances, reflecting on the sacrifices of those who served our nation and reinforcing Rotary's commitment to civic engagement.
Additional programs included presentations connected to The Wall That Heals, providing powerful reminders of service, sacrifice, and community remembrance.
